In March 1945, microbiologist Dr. Stanley J. Buckman established Buckman in Memphis, TN, USA, on land that was once a lumberyard. Today, the company is a global specialty chemical company with sales of more than $500 million. Operating in over 90 countries, Buckman has 10 manufacturing sites (Memphis, TN; Cadet, MO; Canada, Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, and China) and employs 1400 associates. The Cadet, Missouri, plant was established in 1963 and occupies approximately 15 acres. Buckman owns an additional 5,000+ acres around the plant and conducts sustainable forestry work with this property. The highly automated facility employs 33 skilled associates and takes great pride in its excellent safety and environmental records. |

Awards, Achievements, Accomplishments
- In March 2010, Flame Seal Products and Buckman signed an exclusive distribution contract for Flame Seal Products' nontoxic, nonhazardous, eco-friendly fire protection products.
- In September 4, 2008, Dow Biocides and Buckman signed a joint development agreement to accelerate R&D of technologies for use in leather hide preservation.
- Named 2007 Supplier of the Year from building products manufacturer National Gypsum Company for the second time in four years. Buckman first won the award in March 2004.
- In 2004, Buckman received the prestigious US EPA Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award for Optimyze technology for enzymatic stickies control in recycled papers.
